Eleanor Ruth Porter

Eleanor Ruth Porter was called home to her Lord peacefully after a short illness. She is now walking the streets of gold with her husband of 64 years, Robert Porter, who she has missed dearly for twenty years. She was born on October 17, 1932 to the late Ralph and Jennie Reidenga. She was a long standing member of New Life CRC Highland, IN, formerly known as Second Christian Reformed Church. She served coffee and cookies every Sunday after morning service for many many years. She is survived by her children Robert (Linda) Porter, Sandra (Lawrence) Timmons, and Dwayne (Cheryl) Porter, 13 grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Porter, parents Ralph and Jennie Reidenga, sister Norma Gilberson, and brother Robert Reidenga. 

Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 19, 2018 at New Life Christian Reformed Church, 3010 Ridge Rd, Highland, IN 10:00 am. Pastor Bill Sytsma officiating. Burial at Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Eleanor's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
