Grace Ann Auwerda

Grace Ann Auwerda age 84, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

She is survived by her sisters Karen (late Greg) Parker, Trudy Boss (Wayne), Jacalyn (late William) Needles, Kathleen (Harry) Ference, and Lorraine Auwerda, sister-in-law Judy Auwerda, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Gertrude Auwerda, brothers Donald and Henry Auwerda and sister Gloria (late Dennis De Leeuw), and nephew Daniel Auwerda.

Grace was born July 4, 1939, in Hammond, IN and was a graduate of Illiana Christian High School. Grace went on to have a career in the retail industry before becoming a successful entrepreneur in the office care and maintenance field. Grace was a member of Faith Church.

She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and vacationing in Michigan. Grace was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. Her family will remember Grace as a willful strong woman, and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery, Highland, IN.
