Jacob Allen Reid

Jacob Reid, 34, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Rosemarie Reid; partner, Brandi Satterlee; grandmothers, Virginia Palagyi and Patty Reid; brothers, Jason (Kim), Joseph (Karri), James (Jessica) and Justin (Megan); nieces, Alyssa, Sienna, Zoe, Sadie, Callie, Sophia, Norah and Natalia and nephews, Jaxson, Brody, and Joshua.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Ernest Palagyi and Carl Reid and his beloved dog, Buster.

Jacob was born April 7, 1989 in Munster, IN and was a 2008 graduate of Calumet High School.  From there he went on to become a skilled powder coat painter at Kidstuff Playsystems in Gary, IN.

Jacob enjoyed building Lego sets, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Chicago White Sox.  He loved his music, going to concerts, and building huge bonfires.  He was his grandfathers’ helper soldering pipes and his dad’s right-hand man for projects small and large.  He was affectionately known as the fun uncle for every one of his nieces and nephews.

Jacob was a loving son, partner, brother, uncle and friend. To know Jacob was to love Jacob and he will be sorely missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00-7:30 PM.  Eulogy and family sharing will begin at 7:30 PM following the visitation at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
