Jeffrey Wayne Schroeder

Jeffrey Wayne Schroeder, 80, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024. He is survived by: wife of 54 years Marilyn Schroeder,  daughter Jennifer (Jeffrey) Dildine, grandson Matthew Dildine, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Barbara Scott, nieces Sara (Stewart) Scott-Curran and Anne Scott, great-niece Skyler Scott-Curran, and great-nephew James Jeffcoat. Preceded in death by parents Harry and Wilma Schroeder of Lansing, IL.

Jeff graduated from Thornton Fractional High School in 1961. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968.

He was co-owner and did the maintenance for University View Apartments in Hammond, and other rental properties.

Before moving to Highland, Jeff lived in Griffith for 48 years where he was active in his church and the community. He courageously battled Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for over seven years.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Calumet Area or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Dr. Randall McQueen officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn
