Keira Lynn Fennema

Keira Lynn Fennema, age 18, went home to be with her Savior while worshiping with her family from her hospital bed. Beloved daughter of Thomas and Kristen; loving sister of Caedon and Anaia; treasured granddaughter of Tom and Rene Fennema and Terry and Tamie Kuiper; great-grandchild of Eileen Mossell and Gerry Natelborg; devoted niece, cousin, and friend to many. Keira was also a constant companion to her service dog Rocky.

Preceded in death by great-grandparents Gerald and Patricia Kuiper, Marvin Mossell, John and Josephine Fennema, and Ronald Natelborg.

Keira was a gift. She was born with a progressive genetic disorder that made life hard, but made Keira love harder. She loved her family. She loved her friends. She loved her Jesus. The perfect night for Keira was a movie night on the couch, laughing, and eating salty snacks with people she loved. She relished jars full of olives, anything Disney, mermaids, and boys in general, much to her father’s dismay.

Keira prayed fervently, faithfully, and honestly for friends, family, celebrities, and world events; always striving for Christ to be made known in all and to all. She was immensely stubborn, hilariously sarcastic, and deeply caring. She lived with one foot firmly planted in eternity and inspired countless others to do the same. Though Keira’s life here was far too short, her impact on the lives around her will echo from here to eternity. We love you Keira, and we’ll see you soon.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25 from 2:00-7:00 PM at Faith Church in Dyer, 100 East 81 St. Avenue, Dyer, IN.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 10:00 at Faith Church in Dyer with a luncheon to follow. Interment for family at Maplewood Cemetery, Crown Point, IN.
