Phillip F Hasier, 83, of Highland, IN, departed this world on April 18, 2024.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Sandra Hasier (Davis); 2 children, Judi Hasier Lesko, and Phil (Lia) Hasier; 4 grandchildren, Erik (Kari) Lesko, Ian (Kara) Lesko, Gaby Hasier and Izzy Hasier; 7 great-grandchildren, Cristian Fravel, Lilly Mitchem, Cameron Fravel, Riley Lesko, Presley Jo Lesko, Rhiannon Lesko and Ezekiel Lesko; siblings, Theresa (late Leonard) Duranczyk (Hasier), Rich (Barb) Hasier, Ray (Sue) Hasier, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceeded in death by parents, Leo and Clara Hasier; siblings, Joe Hasier, Ed (Lois) Hasier and Mary (late Charles) Zitek (Hasier).
Phillip left this earth on his own terms, in God's timing, and peacefully entered God's Kingdom just shy of his 84th birthday. He was at home, in his favorite chair spot, watching his favorite show, American Pickers on The History Channel.
During his life, he taught his family how to fish, (which taught the importance of quietness, patience and enjoying nature). He taught them to work hard for what they wanted and to fix things rather than buying new. He did so many things for his family, and countless others, but the very best thing he did was lead his family, with Sandra, by example. These life lessons will live on for generations.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a proud Army Veteran (Korea) and a Blue Collar Man who worked as a machinist at International Harvester and as head custodian for Merkley School in Highland (where the children referred to him as "Mr. Phil"); Husband, Father, Grandpa/Papa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, Brother, Son, Neighbor and Friend. He knew his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and served as an altar boy in his youth.
His earthly presence will be missed every day, but his family rejoices that he's with our Lord, Jesus Christ, in eternity, along with all of his loved ones who have gone before him. He is loved beyond measure.
Cremation will be by Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Highland, IN.
In lieu of services, a Celebration of Life with his family and friends will be held at a later date.
