Charles Andrew Zondor, 71, passed away Thursday, February 7th, 2019 after a long battle with heart disease. His funeral service will be held this Tuesday at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in St. John, Indiana (corner of US41 & 93rd Avenue). Friends will be invited to visit with the family from 10am to 11am, followed by mass at 11am.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Rinkje, two sons Adam(Jennifer) & Noah(Teri), four grandchildren Mason, Zoe, Elly & Stella, and sister Judy. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Mary & Ambrose Zondor.
Chuck graduated from Whiting High School in 1965 and then earned a teaching degree from Indiana University. He taught English at Highland Middle School for 35 years. In retirement, he spent his time working out (aka talking) at Fitness Pointe, volunteering at Franciscan Hospital in Dyer and spending time with family. He was a long time member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Chuck’s true passion was food and loved cooking, eating and talking about what he had for dinner that day. He also loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Especially the vacations on the beach with all four of them in Florida.
Papa Chuck was loved by his family and will continue to be in our hearts forever.
