Darlene (nee Cheek) Parsons

Darlene Parsons (nee Cheek), 69, of Griffith, IN, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018.  She is survived by: her loving son John K. (Karen Rose) Parsons, caring daughter Karen Denise Parsons, loving granddaughter Megan Parsons, sisters Diane Horning, Wanda (Charlie) Cantrell, and Lynn (George) Taylor, dear niece Beckie (David) Parsons-Markwood, and numerous additional loving family members. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Michael Parsons in 2002, and her parents.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd. (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN 46322 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Funeral Service will be 9:30 am, Monday, May 14, 2018, at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Bob Parnell officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.

Darlene was a lover of beagles, lighthouses, and country music. She was an excellent homemaker, and gardening was her special passion along with caring for the family fur babies.  Darlene was retired from the Highland Strack & Van Til Deli Department after 27 years of service.
