Griffith, IN- Donald L. Poer (Buster) of Griffith, IN formerly from East Chicago passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Diane M. Poer (Korba) of 32 years, two children: son Ray (Paula) Poer, and daughter Danielle Poer, grandchildren Madison, Landin, McKenzie, and Harmony, brothers Robert (Vicky) Poer, Michael (Jennifer) Poer sisters Sandy (Ron) Greenwell and Tamara (John Frey) Maddox and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Vivian Poer.

Donald (Buster) loved being with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, camping, gardening, fishing and picking mushrooms, he was also an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Hillside Funeral Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN 46322 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family in Donald's name.
