After a prolonged battle with both kidney and congestive heart failure, Kenneth Michael Hill, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018. He was born to his loving parents; William Hill, Sr. and Virginia Hill on June 4th, 1953 in Hammond Indiana.
After losing his father and breaking his back at a young age, Kenny grew up tough and fiercely independent— but always handy with a good-natured joke. He fought in every arena in his life; after graduating from Hammond High, he worked long hours repairing diesel engines at Inland Steel, after starting a family— he put himself through real estate school and joined the white-collar workforce as a mortgage broker, eventually creating his own company during one of the most tumultuous periods in the housing market’s history, later in life— he suffered two strokes, but through everything he never stopped advocating for his special-needs son. Odds be damned, he never stopped fighting. Kenny went twelve rounds with life, facing down insurmountable adversities time and time again, and now finally after going the distance— he can finally rest in peace.
Kenny is survived by his two sons, Daniel and Russell; his two brothers, William "Larry"(Donna) and Donald; niece Jennifer Hilll; his dear friend, Gerri Klein. Ken was preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Virginia Hill. In honor of his wishes, no service shall be held.
Ken had a deep passion for cooking and was able to prepare with excellence any meal! He loved to host family Independence Day gatherings! He also had a great love of his Harley motorcycles, which he loved riding in warm weather.
