Margaret M. (Koval) Poplas

Margaret M. Poplas (nee Koval), 93, of Munster, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  She is survived by her son, Joe Poplas ,Jr., daughter, Nancy (Tim) Schoon; son-in-law Mike Beebe; five grandchildren, Joseph Michael Poplas V, Michael Beebe, Elizabeth Longo, and Sarah Schoon; four great-grandchildren, Bryan Poplas, William Beebe, Lillian Beebe, and Allison Beebe, and numerous additional family members and friends.  Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Poplas; daughter, Linda Beebe; granddaughter, Jennifer Schoon; siblings, Mary Beda, Helen Dal Santo, Andor Koval, Ann Haluska-Martin, John Koval, and Tom Koval.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana 46322.  A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, immediately following visitation. Fr. Theodore Mens, officiating.  Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, Indiana.  

Margaret was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, Indiana.  She graduated from Gary Mercy Hospital as a Nurse, and later retired from DuPont as an Industrial Nurse after over eighteen years of service.  In life, Margaret traveling and ballroom dancing with her husband.
