Marjorie Eaton Obituary

Loving mother and sister, Marge (Margie) Eaton, 65, formerly of Highland, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd.  Margie is survived by her 4 children, John Filipowicz, Jenny (Gregory) Ash, Michael (Heather) Filipowicz, and Robert Filipowicz, 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Addison, Matthew, Andrew, Jaxon, and Benjamin, her siblings Marilyn (Gale) Riggle and Daniel (Linda) Eaton and many other loving family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Charlotte Eaton, her sister, Margret Eaton, and her Canine Companions, O’Gara and Encore.

Friends are invited to meet with the family from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Griffith United Methodist Church, 400 W. 44th Place, Griffith, Indiana 46319.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM, immediately following visitation.  Pastor Jill Orr, officiating.  Interment will follow at, Maple Hill Cemetery, Will County, Illinois.

Margie was born in Woodbury, New Jersey to Charlotte and Daniel Eaton on September 25, 1953.  She attended Highland High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. Margie married Henry Filipowicz on January 27th, 1972, in Griffith, Indiana. She received a certification in computer key-punch and worked as a Unit Secretary for Palos Community Hospital for 5 years.  Prior to her work at Palos, Margie dedicated her time at home raising and caring for her four children.  

She donated many years and hours supporting Canine Companions for Independence and The Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Margie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the late 1980’s and has since been battling this terrible debilitating disease.
