Richard G. Ringel

Richard G. Ringel, age 79, of Highland, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 after a two year battle with lung cancer. He is survived by: his wife of 58 years Pamela, two children, Julie (Andrew) Frankel, and Michael (Beth) Ringel; brother, John; brother- in-law James (Mary) Tamplin; three grandchildren, Alexis (Trevor) Parmentier; Zachary Ringel, Nicholas Frankel; and nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by: his parents, and brother William (Diane) Ringel.  

Richard served in the U.S. Navy, was retired from Stanrail Corporation in Gary, and was a longtime member of Griffith Lutheran Church.  He loved taking ski trips with his friends, golfing with his buddies and taking extra special vacations with his dear family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Griffith Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Broad Street, Griffith, IN from 9:00 am to 10:30 am with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at the church at 10:30 am. Luncheon to follow. 

Memorial donations in Richard's name may be given to Hospice of the Calumet Area, Griffith Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
