Robert Johnston

Robert Ray Johnston Sr. "Bob" died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in his home on September 24th in Griffith, Indiana at the age of 62 from a long battle with cancer.

Robert is survived by his beloved significant other Maggie Dietrich and his loving nine children; Kelly, Adam, Lisa, Tonya, Cassie, Robert Ryan, Rayann, and Brandon. Fondly loved and remembered by his loving sisters and brother; Carol, Rita, Susie, and Mike. Cherished by many grandkids, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Lillian, Lenvol, and Terri Johnston. 

Robert Johnston was born on December 18th, 1955 in Hammond Indiana to Lillian DePula and Lenvol Johnston. He began working for St. Margarets in 1981 as an environmentalist/receiving dock and was dedicated for 36 years. His children remember him as a kind, driven, a hardworking, generous, humorous and loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and to do whatever made them happy. Robert loved spending time with his family and traveling with his significant other.

Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd. (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
