Robert A. Anderson Sr.

Robert A. Anderson Sr., 75, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019.  Robert was born in East Chicago IN to John and Olga (nee Dull) Anderson.  Raised in Hessville, he attended Morton Sr High, where he excelled at football. In 1962 he left high school early, for the U.S. Army, where he traveled Europe for 3 years and obtained his GED. Returning home to the U.S., he began is 33 year career at Inland Steel's 76 inch hot strip mill.  It was in 1966 he met the love of his life Marjorie(nee Marvel) and the couple were married and settled in Cedar Lake, IN. They were lifelong residents of the town and it was there, that they raised their 4 children.  Robert enjoyed watching all types of sporting events but his favorites were the ones played by his children.  Also an avid fisherman, he loved spending time with family and friends at his fishing cabin in Chetek, WI .  His FAVORITE activity was "Putzing" around in the garage. 
He leaves behind his wife Marjorie of 52 years, four children Robert A. (Teresa) Anderson, John A (Valerie) Anderson, James B (Tracy) Anderson, and Barbara A (Steve) Roman. and eleven grandchildren Robert III, Shelby (Aniruddha), Rebecca Jo, Alex, Sara, Natalie, Jacob, Jamie, Jaden, Victoria and Josh,  his sisters Mary (nee Anderson) Hamilton, and Kathleen (nee Anderson) Miecznikowski, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Olga, and by his brother John.
