Ruth (Boender) Faber

Ruth Faber (nee Boender), age 92, formerly of Crete, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Loving mother of Barbara (David) Werblo and Joan (Daniel) De Block. Cherished grandmother of David (Tina) Werblo, Dennis Werblo, Carrie (Chad) Zimmerman, Jolene (Scott) Iurillo, Kevin (Kim) De Block, and Kurt (Tricia) De Block. Sweet great-grandmother of Caitlyn (John) Millard, Emilie (Fiancée Blake Van Syoc) Zimmerman, Austin and Benjamin Zimmerman; Brad (Ciara) Werblo, Brian (Karisa) Werblo, Brett and Rebecca Werblo; Anna, Jacob and Alexander Iurillo, Abigail, Nicholas and Kendall De Block. Step great-grandmother of Miranda (Jade) Wilcox and step great-great grandmother of Kali Louise Wilcox. Dear sister of Cornelius (Kathleen) Boender. Kind and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Peter Howard Faber; her parents, Cornelius and Louise (Zwaanstra) Boender and her youngest brother, Robert (late Gloria) Boender.

Ruth worked for close to 30 years at the former Burger’s / Key Supermarket in Munster, IN making salads in their kitchen deli department. She was a lifelong member of Munster Christian Reformed Church. Ruth moved to Village Woods Retirement Village in 2012 and enjoyed the daily contact and friendship with other residents there. Most recently she has resided in the Lowell Healthcare Facility and the staff there loved her friendly nature. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Munster Christian Reformed Church, 214 Ridge Road, Munster, IN 46321. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation with Pastor Jim Hollendoner and Pastor Herman Schutt officiating. Private interment at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL. Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be given to Bethshan Association, Elim Christian Services, or Crown Point Christian School.
