Steve Ray Miczalek passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Riley House in Munster, IN. He was 63. Steve was born in Hammond, IN, on February 28, 1955 to Steve and Mary (Orban) Miczalek. He was raised in Highland, IN, and lived there most of his life. As many know, he swore he would “never leave Highland.” He graduated from Highland High School in 1973 and founded SLM Productions and Club Rap. Later in life, he started a Highland High School Alumni Club that met once a month for the past several years and was open to any graduating class. Steve attended Suburban Bible Church for many years, as well. While Steve wasn’t planning mini class reunions, he cherished his time with his kids. He never failed to make them laugh. And he loved playing basketball or watching a Cubs game with them. Left on earth to cherish his life are his daughters, Jill (Stephen) Schuler and Stacy Osorio, sister, Mary Jacobs, and five grandchildren, Brianna, Dominic, Brandon, Mark, and Eleanor . He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Miczalek, and son, Zachary Miczalek. A memorial service will be held in Steve’s honor on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9:30 am at Suburban Bible Church in Highland, IN, with light refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Make-A-Wish, Illinois Chapter would be greatly appreciated, as Steve would have liked to honor his son, Zack. While Steve will be incredibly missed, we can find peace and comfort in the fact that he is now in heaven, as he accepted Jesus as his savior.
