He also loved many nieces and nephews, two great grandchildren, and two very special daughters by love, Megan Kelley and Leslie Oberhausen.
He was preceded in death by his adored wife, N. Elaine Snow, parents Therman and Kathryn Snow, sister Joyce Boyd, and brother James Snow.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Danny Z's in Munster, IN from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Thurman (Bud) was born in Alabama but moved to Indiana in his youth and raised his family in Highland. He retired from Mital Steel where he worked as an electrical technician. He was also a proud veteran of the US Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. Before his illness, Bud was an active member of Lake County Fish and Game and the American Legion (Griffith). He fished everywhere, traveled frequently and enjoyed taking in the adventures of the road. Thurman loved his family and family dinners on Sunday. He was an avid fan of White Sox baseball and volunteered for education, including working on the Safety Village. He was also an avid reader, did math problems and electrical schematics for fun, and was the brightest of lights for all that loved him.
Thurman preferred focusing on positives so his family will host a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to either the Transitions program with Hospice of the Calumet Area, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
10/4 SnowMan, we love you. The world is a much better place because you were here.
