Virginia Diana (Jones) Mayes

Virginia Diana Mayes (Jones), 65, of Hobart, IN, was called home to heaven on October 23, 2019. Diane was born on May 25, 1954, to the late Edith Arroyo. She attended Calumet High School. She had a variety of jobs over the years but her favorite job was Nana to her grandchildren. Diane enjoyed watching her grandchildren, playing Club Pogo on her computer, and playing cards with family on Saturdays. In her spare time she loved to watch Lifetime movies, NCIS, and all Chicago team sports. Her family was very important to her. She cherished the holidays with her family.

Diane is survived by her husband of 47 years Nigle, her two daughters Diana Reed (Andy), Patricia Travis (Don), and son Nigle Mayes Jr; her grandchildren Ashley Clark, Brittany Mayes, Zachary Clark, Brandon Mayes, Hailey Clark, Isabel Travis, Erik Reed, and Olivia Reed; her siblings Evelyn McNece (Greg), John Arroyo (Tammy), David Arroyo (Kathy), Juanita Vela (John), Paul Arroyo (Shelley), Lisa Gordon (William), and Adam Arroyo (Tonia).

Diane was preceded in death by her mother Edith Arroyo and older brother Jesse Jones (Rosie).

Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm with a Funeral Service to be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Parnell officiating.

Diane will be missed by all her family and friends.
