Ginny Lamprecht, age 85, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. Ginny was born on September 6, 1932 in Hammond, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvie (Jim) Rector & Mildred (Kessler) Rector, her sister Eleanor (Faye) Warne, her great grandson, Zachary Lamprecht and the love of her life, August John Lamprecht in 2013.
Survived by son, Jerry (Becky) Lamprecht of Kouts, IN; daughters, Becky (Bill) Smith of Valparaiso, IN and Linda (Gary) Hays of Cody, WY. Grandchildren: Cortney (Mike) Mycroft of Crawfordsville, IN, Jeff (Shannon) Hays of Kalispell, MT, Derek (Stephanie) Lamprecht of Hebron, IN and Jenna (Randy) Baxter of Powell, WY; Great grandchildren: Lily Mycroft, Christopher, Quentin and Jacob Lamprecht and Joel, Micah and Jude Baxter all of whom she loved very much. Other family members who meant a lot to Ginny were Bill Smith of Chicago, Il, Liam Mycroft, Karen Field of Virginia Beach, VA, Emma, Sam and Ben and many nieces and nephews.
Ginny worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and for Dyer Hospital. She also was a bookkeeper for C & R Stationery in Griffith, IN.
Some of her interests included art, reading, sewing and especially quilting-she made quilts for all her family members. Her most important role was mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took joy in her family, prayed for them daily and enjoyed and laughed at stories of her great grandkids.
Ginny was a faithful member of Surburban Bible Church for over 40 years and an active part of her Sunday School class. She was a true prayer warrior - hardly a day passed that she didn't take time to read her Bible and pray for her family and friends.
Two songs that meant a lot to her were 'Household of Faith' and 'Find Us Faithful' - she loved the line in the song "so that all that come behind us find us faithful". That was her prayer - that her family continue the faith that she lived and demonstrated daily.
