Alan J. Czapczyk

Alan J. Czapczyk, 64, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Dawn (Downing) Czapczyk; their sons, Alan and Joseph Czapczyk; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Ida Czapczyk, and his sister, Katherine Czapczyk.

Born on March 23, 1960, in East Chicago, Indiana, Alan was a proud 1979 graduate of Munster High School. On June 11, 1981, he married Dawn, the love of his life. Together, they built a loving home and a family filled with joy.

As a master Journeyman Plumber, Alan worked with Downing Plumbing for over 40 years, proudly serving his community with integrity and dedication. In addition to his career, he was an avid fisherman who found peace in the quiet moments by the water.

Alan’s kindness, humor, and loyalty touched the lives of all who knew him. He was deeply loved as a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. His presence will be sorely missed.

Cremation has been entrusted to Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Highland, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, Indiana.
