Alma Lucille (Kolbus) Max

Alma Lucille Max age 87, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lawrence Max; and children, Deborah Max Gauthier and Kathleen Max. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving son, David Michael Max.

Alma was born on April 13, 1938 in East Chicago, Indiana. She was a 1956 graduate of Bishop Knoll High School. On May 18, 1957, she married the love of her life, Lawrence Max, and together they shared their lives for 68 years. Alma drove special-needs children for 27 years for the School Town of Highland. Alma and her husband enjoyed doing everything together, including daily walks. Alma always had her husband Larry and their children as her main focus in everything she did. She will be a part of all the lives she touched forever. 

Visitation will be held at Hillside funeral home 8941 Kleinman Road in Highland Indiana. The wake will be on Thursday, the 22nd of January, from 3 PM to 7 PM. The service will also be held at Hillside, at 10 AM, Friday, the 23rd of January.
