Alta R. Gonzales

Alta Reyes Gonzales, age 82, May 30, 1939 – May 2, 2022.  She resided in East Chicago Indiana for many years, and passed away at home in Hammond, Indiana.  Preceded in death by her parents Margarita and Antonio Venegas Sr., her sisters Maria Teresa Martinez,  Cleoltilde “Kota” Argondona, brothers Francisco and Gilberto Villarruel, and granddaughter Jacqueline Lee.

Beloved mother of Mona Flores, Gina (Mike) Lee, Jennifer (Peter) Rupcich, dearest grandmother of Julian Hernandez, Rachel and Jessica Lee, Ethan Rupcich, great grandmother of Addison, cherished sister of Ricardo Villarruel and Antonio Venegas Jr., fond aunt and friend to many.

Alta was a loving mother and a caring grandmother. She enjoyed her job as a legal secretary for over thirty years. Family meant everything to Alta, and in her leisure time, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite things were listening to music and spending time at home cuddling her Chihuahuas. She welcomed people in her home and always made them feel comfortable.  Her laughter and smile will be truly missed.  

A Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road Highland, IN 46322 on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, IN..
