Altamae (Hartwig) Blink, age 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, entering her heavenly home where she is now reunited with her beloved family. A woman of profound and unwavering faith, Altamae spent her life serving God and sharing His love with everyone she met.
Born on October 23, 1929, Altamae graduated from Griffith High School in 1947. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community dedication. Throughout her career, she brought her joyful spirit and strong work ethic to her roles as a secretary for Youth for Christ, McGee Insurance Agency, and the Lake Shore Chamber of Commerce. For over 80 years, she was a deeply faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Highland, Indiana, where she served God in countless ways and stood as a dedicated witness for her Lord. In her later years, Altamae deeply believed that God kept her here on Earth to help people in need with love, grace, and Christian charity.
Altamae was married to her beloved husband, Willis Blink, for 61 precious years—a union that stood as a beautiful testament to a loving Christian marriage.
She was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, Willis; her beloved son, Duane Willis Blink; her beloved daughter, Bonnie Mae (Blink) Dorsey; her parents, Harold Hartwig Sr. and Hazel (Hartwig) Herring; her stepfather, Vernon Herring; her brothers, Harold Hartwig Jr., Rev. Frank Hartwig, and Dale Hartwig; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hartwig, Nancy Hartwig, Glenda Hartwig, and Shirley Blink; and grandson-in-law Daniel Korhorn.
Her legacy of love and faith lives on through her surviving family: her devoted daughter, Barbara Blink, and son-in-law, Richard Dorsey; and her brother, William Hartwig.
She was the cherished grandmother of four grandchildren and their spouses: Kimberly (Dan) Korhorn, Lisa and Ben Perry, Jonathan and Lindsay Dorsey, and Michael and Lindsay Blink. She was also the proud great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren: Emma and Lily (Korhorn); Sam, Jake, and Jonathan (Perry); and Nora and Keira (Blink). She also leaves behind her several loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Altamae’s final message to those she loved is a reflection of the hope she held so dearly: “Love you deeply...will be waiting for you all in heaven someday...with our Lord God and our precious family. Keep your focus on our Lord... and love Him in all things... as He loves you.”
What a day that will be, when we all get to heaven.
