Andrea Lynn Diehl

Andrea Lynn Diehl, age 79, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dan Diehl, children, Holly (Tom) Piunti, Mark (Stacy) Diehl, Darcy Crowder and Scott Diehl, 17 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren, and many, many nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Malida Seberger, and brother, Wesley Seberger.

Andrea was born on January 14, 1947 in Gary, IN. She was a Calumet High School graduate, class of 1965. She was an IU Northwest graduate in Nursing, class of 1967. She was an RN for 42 years.

In 1969, Andrea married the love of her life, Dan on August 23. They shared 56 years of marriage and settled in Gary, IN where they raised 4 children. Andrea was an active member of Ross Community Reformed Church in Gary, having played piano, taught Sunday School, Pioneer Group and participated in Wednesday family night, she sang in the choir and was on the Ross Preschool Playgroup board for the entirety of its duration. She also worked for Lake Ridge School System as a school nurse and the Community Health Network, at various campuses, until her retirement in 2009.

She enjoyed traveling to Minnesota, fishing, reading, and bragging of the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a big sports fan. You could always find her watching a game- Chicago Cubs, Bulls, Bears, IU, and Purdue.

Andrea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Road, (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 on Friday April 10, 2026 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral will be held at Ross Community Reformed Church, 3900 W 41st Ave, Gary, IN 46408, on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.
