Arlene Marie Heintz from Munster, IN, is resting from her earthly labor and was welcomed into her heavenly home on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the age of 78.
Arlene was born April 11, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana. Arlene was full of life with a great sense of humor, and to know her meant to know FUN! Arlene was always the life of the party. Never letting her illness define her, she lived her life that way right up till the end.
Arlene married her one true love, Marty, on August 25, 1973 combining a family they affectionately referred to as “his, hers, and ours” thus beginning their 30-year adventure together. They moved to Munster, Indiana and Arlene began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Munster Community Hospital. After retirement she began her second career as a preschool aide at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. They made Trinity Reformed in Munster, Indiana, their Church home, where Arlene publicly made her profession of faith and where she grew in her walk with the Lord. It is also where they served as custodians for many years. In her later years, she transferred to First Church PCA in Lansing, IL, where she was ministered to and loved.
Arlene had a wonderfully creative side and was a master at counted cross-stitch and crocheting. Many have had the good fortune of receiving a handmade gift from Arlene.
She enjoyed camping, road trips, Sunday Bears games, dancing and singing, bingo, dinner with friends, and Donuts!
Arlene was a devoted wife and mom, loving daughter, sister, gram, great gram, auntie, and friend. She loved becoming a grandma and even more so a great grandma. She cherished her time with the grands. She will be celebrated and missed as we seek to mend the big hole in our hearts.
She is survived by her “3 girls", Tina (Tim) Stinnett, Jen Heintz, Lisa (Dan) Peck, stepchildren, Joan (Ron) Godlewski, Butch Heintz, Cherri Heintz, grandchildren, Jonathan (Karleen) Stinnett, Ben (Samantha), Nate, and Liz Balasia, Iris Peck, Ryan Prondzinski, Kyle Heintz, and Ben Godlewski. Great-grandchildren, Zac and Max Stinnett, and Henry Balasia, brothers Dan (Belma) Wierzbicki and Randy Wierzbicki, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, and caring and devoted friends, Chris and Mack.
Preceded in death by her parents, Leo Posiadlowski and Leona Wierzbicki, loving husband Marty Heintz, brother Dave Kras, sister Debbie Tibbetts, and grandson Eric Prondzinski.
Funeral Service will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road), Highland, Indiana, on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Rich Bawinkel officiating.
