Aurora DeWitt Rasmussen Obituary

Aurora DeWitt Rasmussen of Crown Point Indiana, passed away at home in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 10th, 2026.

Aurora was born on March 3rd, 2022. She is survived by so many people who loved her. This includes her four parents Shelley, Tiffany, Jared, and Rob, as well as her 11 siblings, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by multiple grandparents as well as her older brother Karter.

Some may say that Aurora never worked a day in her life and that is true.  An old sentiment says, "choose a job you love, and  you'll never  work a day in your life". Aurora did what she loved as often as she could, which was most of the time. She practiced many different professions in her life but some of her most notable occupations were as a teacher, scientist, student, and as an artist. All of which were occupations she practiced simultaneously. I might add.

Aurora's hobbies included dancing and singing. Her favorite movement style was interpretive hand dance and she loved to sing opera. She had ultimately mastered the whistle tone, something many singers only dream of. She had a deep love of art and making music. Some of her favorite instruments were bells and tambourines. She even took a swing at mixed martial arts on numerous occasions. She loved rhythmic gymnastics and foot painting. She adored playing with light and making things move!

She used her unique creativity in everything she did. Her politics heavily involved her passion for justice and acceptance. Throughout her life, she remained a devoted follower of joy. Aurora believed that sharing smiles had the ability to change the world and that love is the true measure of a life well lived.
