Barbara A. Mitchell

Barbara A. Mitchell, age 75, of Griffith, IN suddenly passed away on the morning of December 26, 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Santucci (Jason Harrington), her sister Nancy Gauler, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Ron, and her son, Paul.

Barbara met Ron while working at Inland Steel. Over the next 54 years, they created lots of happy memories while raising their two children in a wonderful and happy home. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends. Barbara was an avid Cubs, Notre Dame, and Chicago Bears fan. They were fortunate enough to spend the winters of their retirement in Florida where they quickly expanded their list of friends. I am positive that they grew more and more in love with each passing year.

Although it is extremely difficult for our family to lose both Barbara and Ron within one month’s time, we know that they simply needed to be together. Barbara was the best mom, sister, wife, and aunt that anyone could hope for.

Per the family’s request, there will be no services.
