Barney Tunis Kooi

Barney Tunis Kooi, age 86, of Lowell, IN passed away peacefully on March 12, 2020. Barney is survived by his daughter, Linda, son Thomas (late Kathy), son Mark (Stefanie), seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Bill Kooi (Lorraine), sisters-in-law Betty Jansma (late Mike), Norma Barnes (Bob), and brother-in-law Calvin Wiers (late Brenda). Preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia.

Barney was a route salesmen for 38 years for Pepsi Cola Company. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting, dartball, and bowling. He was a man of strong faith, serving as Deacon, a member of the church choir, and Elder. He loved spending time with family and spent many hours cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held  Monday, March 16, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, Indiana, 46322 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately to follow at 12:00 pm. Pastor Chuck Hochmuth officiating.
