Barry Gene Radcliffe, 83, December 10, 1942 - January 20, 2026.
Barry was born on December 10, 1942, in Francesville, Indiana, where he grew up working on farms and graduated from Francesville High School in 1961. He went on to spend most of his working years in the glass industry in Lake County, Indiana. He owned and operated several glass businesses, most notably Southlake Glass, and worked for local mills and dealerships installing glass. After retiring, he spent a short time driving trucks, which he enjoyed. For the past 25 years, he and his wife Mary Ellen have made their home in Crown Point, Indiana.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leo and Irene Radcliffe; his brothers Lee and JR Radcliffe; and his sisters Barbara Sanders and Diane Clevenger.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Ellen; his children, Lauren (Kevin) of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandson Michael (Seohee) and one great-granddaughter Lila Jane of Jacksonville, Florida, and Noelle Christine Radcliffe of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Mary Ellen’s children, Suzanne (Carlos) Ruiz of Schererville, Indiana; and Melinda (Lucas) Pedigo, grandchildren, Grace, Lucas Jr. & Nicholas of El Paso, Texas.
Barry attended South Point Community Church for many years and later attended Christway Baptist as he was able. Over time, he helped with maintenance around the church grounds and taught adult Sunday School. He had a lifelong interest in NASCAR, old cars and trucks, Indiana University basketball, and John Deere tractors. He enjoyed attending races at Michigan Speedway and spending time outdoors, especially mowing the lawn.
In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life service will be held in the coming months.
