Bernice Christopher

Bernice Christopher passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born in Goodrich, North Dakota on April 9, 1927. She was one of eight children (one other sister and six brothers) all of which have preceded her in death. She was married to Howard Christopher (her sweetie) and sadly lost him to lung cancer at the early age of 51. 

Bernice is survived by her children, Susan Christopher (Highland, IN), Kenny (Dottie) Morse (Chesterton, IN), Terry (Becky) Morse (Valparaiso, IN), Debbie (Dave) Straub nee Christopher (Evansville, IN), Greg (Fran) Christopher (Evansville, IN), and was preceded in death by son Larry Christopher (Evansville, IN). She was especially proud of her three very tall grandchildren, Jason Morse, Cindy Morse, and Kevin (Becky) Morse. She was also a great-grandma to Brooklyn and Parker Morse. She really loved looking at all of the adorable photos of the great-grandkids.

One of her favorite hobbies was bowling. She was the secretary of her two bowling leagues for over 25 years. She had so many friends from her bowling teams and so much fun!!! Truly a social event. Mom looked forward to going bowling twice a week until the young age of 85. Even in her much older years she had an average in the 150's. Her son would call to let her know that pro-bowling was on and she would be glued to the tv for a couple of hours and was very happy. 

She also always had a garden and loved getting that first tomato of the season. She also enjoyed sharing her veggies with friends and neighbors.

We were so lucky to have our mom for as many years as we did. She was such a great mom and the best at making our childhoods so much fun. Thanks mom, you are really going to be missed. Now you can go be with your sweetie.
