Bessie (Irene) Thiel

Bessie (Irene) Thiel, 93, of Griffith, IN, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020. She is survived by: son Garry Thiel, brother John (Geneva) Harder, sister-in-law Velma Thiel, special caretaker companions Pamela Little and Haley Janes, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph B. Thiel, sister Mildred Mills, and brothers Harold (Bud) Harder and Jack Harder.

Irene was an avid bingo player and was married to Joseph in November of 1947.

A Visitation will be held May 27, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Graveside Service to be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307 beginning at 10:00 am. A procession to the cemetery will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 am.
