Betty Mills Obituary
Betty Gordon Mills, age 90, of St. John, IN. passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
She is survived by her daughters Laura (Philip) Kates, and Hallie (Randy) Nicholl-Csikos; 8 grandchildren, sister Alma Tremble and special niece Jynx Steele. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Jack Mills.
Betty was born in March of 1936, and grew up in Harvey, and attended Thornton Township High School (Class of '54). She married and moved to Riverdale, then to St. John Indiana in 1972, where she lived until her passing. Her daughters honored her wishes and kept her in her home, caring for her until the end with help of Unity Hospice, and caregivers Kathie, Kim, April, Jen, and beloved niece Jynx.
Betty was an avid Gardener, cherished her pets, loved listening to music, dancing around the kitchen, and was a loyal listener of WGN Talk Radio. She will be remembered for her wicked sense of humor and her many stories of her long trips to Acapulco, Mexico, and working in Chicago at the Hartford.
She will be missed and thought of every single day.
