Betty Scheeringa

Betty Scheeringa, age 90, of Griffith, IN (formerly of Highland, IN) went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Bill Scheeringa, loving mother to Donna (Dean) Hoover, late Harold (late Lynn) Scheeringa, Bev (Keith) Bruxvoort, Bill (Grace) Scheeringa, Laura (Gary Standish), grandmother to Stephanie (David) Marks, Brandon Hoover, Stacy (Rick) Hodson, Kevin (Apryle) Scheeringa, Kara (Troy) Nanninga, Ryan (Kelly) Bruxvoort, Erica (Steve) Dregits, Amy (Chris) Eenigenburg, Dennis (Jenna) Scheeringa, and Norman Standish. Gigi to 19 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Clarence (Marlene) Vos and the late Shirley (late Neil) Zeilenga. Preceded in death by her parents, Tunis and Ann Vos.

Betty was a homemaker and strong support for her husband and his business for over 60 years. She was an excellent cook and her Sunday dinners were enjoyed more than she will every know and the memories cherished. Betty and Bill attended Christian Reformed churches in Highland, Howard City, Michigan, and Bradenton, Florida. They were truly blessed with amazing friend groups in the locations they lived. Betty was currently a member at Beacon Light Church.

A private graveside service was held for Betty at Hope Cemetery on May 17, 2025. The family requests memorial donations be made to Highland Christian, Illiana Christian, or Hospice of the Calumet Area.
