Betty Ann (Towle) Wegner, 77, of Highland passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Monday, August 28th, 2023. She was born April 29, 1946 in Gary, IN the daughter of Everett and Lucille (Hutton) Towle. She married the love of her life Russell Wegner on April 9, 1971 who earned his wings to heaven on November 24th, 1991. She was a loving mother to her 2 sons, Russell (Courtney) Wegner Jr. of Valparaiso and Jeffery (Christina) Wegner of Highland. Proud Nana to Jeremiah Wegner, Makayla Wegner, Brieanna Wegner, Emily Wegner, Gavin Wegner, and Great Nana to Ryder Knight. Cherished sister to Jim (Cheri) Towle and Gary (Michelle) Towle. Preceded in death by sister Dorothy (Towle) Wanat and brother Everett Towle. Beloved Pretty Princess Aunt Betty (PPAB) to nieces and nephews both near and far.
Betty held family closest to her heart and made anyone she encountered immediately feel loved, often known as “Mom” or “Aunt Betty” to many. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, tending her gardens, and being crafty in so many areas. She took pride in being the minister’s wife to her late husband, who was a minister for the Church of Christ. The center of Betty’s life was loving God and serving him. That love for God spilled into every aspect of her life. Betty could light up a room with her infectious smile wherever she went and will be remembered for her ability to love with her whole heart, touching the lives of many.
