In Loving Memory of Bill Turkevich
Bill Turkevich, 75, passed away on June 29, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was a man of quiet strength, a sharp sense of humor, and a lifelong love of books. As an avid reader and collector, he found great joy in his interests of comics and film, and never passed on an opportunity to share his knowledge with his daughters, family, neighbors or others with a listening ear. He was known for his dry sarcasm, tales of life in the Harbor, his career at the mill, and his deep love for his furry companions, (most recent survived pet, Snowy.)
Though he wasn’t one for grand displays of affection, those who knew him understood the unspoken, steady love he had for his family. His presence, wit, and unwavering character will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his brother, Craig Turkevich; his sister, Carol Turkevich; his daughter Jamie Paul and her husband, Timothy Paul, and their children, Remmie, Mikaela, and Dashel Paul; and his daughter Kelly Moreland and her son, Pippin Hudson.
His memory will live on in the stories he shared, the catchy phrases he coined, the books he treasured, and the family who will carry him in their hearts always.
Bill’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 9:00am-11:00am at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Ave Highland, IN. Cremation to follow.
