Bonita DeYoung, 79, of Griffith passed away peacefully on March 12,2025 with her family by her side.
She was born to the late Harold and Irene Miller on January 10,1946 in Gary, Indiana. Bonita graduated from Griffith High School in 1964. She married the late Robert DeYoung on August 1,1964 and together they settled in Griffith and built their family.

Bonita is survived by her five children: Peggy (Daniel) Bartochowski of Griffith; Robert DeYoung of Griffith; Thomas (Tonia) DeYoung of Griffith; Holly DeYoung of Griffith; and Kelly (Richard) Ladendorf of Davenport, Florida. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Brandy, Heather, Jordan, Morgan, Benjamin, Nicholas, Emily and Brylie, and her four great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Alex, Aiden, and Leah.

Bonita was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Irene Miller, husband Robert, brother Danny, and sister Carole. She is also survived by her sister Wendy (Ralph) Gray, nine nieces and nephews, their families, and her devoted dogs Billy, Sadie and Winston.

Bonita retired from Jewel/Osco after 25 years working in the floral department. She loved spending time with her family and watching Cubs baseball.

Bonita was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

At Bonita's request, she asked to be cremated with no funeral or memorial service.
