Brenda Faye (Davis) Pickens, age 80, of Hammond, IN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 22, 2025. She was born on May 18, 1945, in Hardin County Tennessee to the late Alice and Cletis Davis and was one of five children.
She spent much of her life making others feel beautiful inside and out.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Bill(Juanita)Davis, Ted(Barbara) Davis, Bob(Wanda) Davis.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Pickens, with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage. Together they raised Two sons: Timothy (Vallarie) Pickens, Billy (Belinda) Pickens. She was the proud Grandmother to Five grandchildren: Jordan(Taylor) Pickens, Morgan Pickens, Mackenzie Pickens, Jacob Pickens & Colton Pickens. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy, and her grandchildren will forever cherish her unmatched love and countless thoughtful gestures.
Brenda is also survived by her sister Ann (Johnny) Alexander of Savannah TN. Aunt & Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and her four Grandpuppies Ivy, Macy, Ruthie & Hazel.
She loved hosting family holidays where everyone was welcome, and her thoughtfulness always made people feel special. She had a heart that put others first, a gift for making people feel seen and loved. She was blessed with many dear friends, and her giving nature touched everyone who knew her.
A fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. She also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as time spent with friends and any occasion that brought her family together.
To know her was to love her. Brenda will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and unwavering love for her family.
At Brenda's request No service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Of Calumet Area - William J. Riley Memorial Residence in Munster IN made in Brenda's Honor.
