Brenda Smith

Brenda Smith, age 75, of Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021. She is survived by: husband of 56 years Richard Smith, children Mark A. (Janet) Smith, Matthew W. (Christina) Smith, and Monroe J. Smith, grandchildren Cory Smith, Jesse Smith, Summer Smith, Brittney Sanders, and Salvatore Smith, great-grandchildren Addie Smith, Carter Muro, siblings David Alsup, Dean Alsup, and Kenneth Alsup, and numerous other loved ones. She was preceded in death by: parents Joyce and Wayne Alsup, and brother Dennis Alsup. 

Brenda began her life with Richard 66 years ago. She spent much of her life learning and mastering various skills and hobbies, such as painting, sewing, piano, and animal care. She was a true master at seeing the beauty of and showing empathy and unconditional love toward every person she encountered. Throughout her many adventures in life, God was always at the center of her being. Caring for her husband and her three sons was her life's joy. She will be loved and missed always.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm with a Funeral at 5:30 pm.
