Brian James Slawinski

Brian J Slawinski, 69, passed away Wednesday April 26, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Slawinski (nee Pliszka), sister-in-law, Barbara Pliszka, his favorite buddy Arlo and many cousins and friends. Preceded in death by: Parents, Stanley and Helen Slawinski, brother David Slawinski, Divot, Zoe and Fore.
Brian was born on the south side of Chicago. He was married to the love of his life Joann for 39 years. Retired from US Steel with over 40 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement especially in the warm months sitting outside with his neighborhood
buddies, Dan, Billy, Tony, Richie and John just to name a few. He enjoyed wood working and building things for others in his workshop. Brian enjoyed golfing with anyone but particularly Deter, Billy, Dan, Barb and Nick. He enjoyed time spent
with his childhood friends that were there until the end. Loved all of the Chicago sport teams. He had a special sense of humor that only Brian could have, spoke his mind if you liked it or not. He had a special love for God and this Country and
the Flag for which it stands. He will be missed by his family, friends and especially Arlo.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 1, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral home and Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge road) Highland IN from 4 to 8 pm.
