Carol Ann Cook, 78, of Madisonville, KY, formerly of Highland, IN, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Carol was born on January 20, 1948, to the late Elmer Farrar and Betty Wimberly Farrar. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Terry Farrar.
Carol retired from the School Town of Highland after serving many years as the Head Cook at Southridge Elementary School. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, canning, and playing cards, but most importantly, spending time with her family—especially her grandbabies.
Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Cook; two daughters, Carrie (Ryan) Schrader of Slaughters, KY, and Sherrie (Robert) Jerome of Highland, IN; one son, Michael Cook of Madisonville, KY; and two brothers, Jerry Farrar of Spencer, IN, and Bob Farrar of Schererville, IN. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Marybeth, Matthew, Kevin, Shelby, Shannan, and Rachael, as well as her 5 great-grandchildren, Izzy, Lily, Emmy, Nico, and Oliver, and she had just received the news that she had 2 more on the way!
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, May 31st, from 2–6 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Rd., Highland, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 1st, at 10 a.m. also at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Carol will always be remembered as one of the most honest and caring women you could ever meet, and her life made a huge impact on all who loved her!
