Carol King

Carol King, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Clyde) McCoy, James (Naomi) Maddux, and Rebecca (Colin) DePrez; step-children, Edward (Tara) King, and Sarah (Bob) Watson; siblings, Ronnie (Patty) Eversoll, Sharon Maynard, Linda (Tim) Doyle, Duane (Jeanie) Kimmons; grandchildren, Steven (Ariana) McCoy, Diana (Rob) Christ, Allison Maddux, Katelyn (Chris) Walsh, James Maddux, Ashley Maddux, Blake Maddux, Audrey King, Davin King, Kylie DePrez and one more DePrez on the way; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard King; parents, Thomas and Juanita Kimmons; son, Eddie Maddux; and grandson, Cody Maddux.

Carol was born October 18, 1955 in Rockford, Illinois.  She lovingly raised four children.  Loved and cared for her two step-children.  She retired from Warner Lambert after 30 years.  When Carol wasn’t working she loved to garden, craft, sew and needle point.  She enjoyed family get-togethers, fishing and garage sale hunting in the summer, craft fairs and spending time with her grandchildren. 

A loving and wonderful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4:00pm - 6:00 pm at Firstborn Ministries church, 8213 N. Alpine Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61115
