Carol A. Komendat

Carol A. Komendat, age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026. She was born May 29, 1941 to Julius & Sally Gregorovich of Whiting, IN. 

Carol graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in 1959.

She was married to Roger Komendat (of Highland, IN) for 48 years. She and Roger moved to Syracuse, IN, and have lived there for 23 years, along with various years as snowbirds in Mesa, AZ for 12 years.

Carol had many cousins, aunts, and uncles. She worked at a flower shop for many years, also at Simmons Factory. After that, she made a great home maker. She loved fishing and old school car shows. She loved animals, especially cats, which she had during her marriage. She was a special lady to her husband and to their cats.

Carol was a member of Griffith Eastern Star.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 463223 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.
