Catherine Lax Obituary

Catherine A. "Cathy" Lax, age 92, of Gary, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She is survived by her son, Robert M. Lax (Rebecca Mestrovich). Preceding her in death was her beloved husband Robert R. "Bob" Lax, and her sister Mary Francis Misecko (Ameri).

Catherine taught and worked in the office for the Diocese of Gary schools. First at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, then at Saint Catherine of Sienna in Hessville. She finished her working career at Saint Ann's School in Black Oak.

In retirement, Catherine and Bob moved to Sumava Resorts on the Kankakee river, and began two decades of touring the country in RV's. Later, they became Florida snowbirds. Her final years were spent with the Albertine Sisters in Hammond.

There will be a private gravesite service for the immediate family.
