Cathy Marie (Schramm) Arroyo

Mrs. Cathy Marie Arroyo (nee Schramm) of Gary, Indiana passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the age of 57.

Cathy was born to parents Charles and Mary Schramm on June 27, 1963.  She grew up as the eldest of three, and graduated from Highland High School.  In May of 1987, she married the true love of her life, Hector, and had three children.  Those four were her whole world and, though they drove her crazy, were the reason she was so proud to be a wife and mother.

At the time of her passing, Cathy was employed by Gus Bock’s ACE Hardware in Munster, Indiana and loved working there and helping her customers.  She was a dedicated employee who hated to miss a day of work.  Her work ethic, which was often commented on by her bosses and managers, was something she tried to instill in her children as well.  

Cathy is survived by her husband, Hector, of 33 years; her sons, Christopher and Daniel (Victoria); daughter, Kimberly; brother, Craig Schramm; sister, Karen (Michael) Maged; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Cathy is also survived by friends who knew that she was the only reason Hector could keep things in order.

Services will take place at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd. (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 5:30 pm.
