It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charity Lynn Thiele on March 16, 2026, at age 52. Charity was born June 27,1973, in Hammond, IN to Karen Koenemann and Gary Houchin.
She is survived by Husband Charles “Chuck” Thiele; children Bryen Houchin, Justin (Francesca) and Jarrod (Marissa) Thiele, Grandchildren; Braylynn, Silvie and Bailee. Mother Karen (Ken) Koenemann. Sisters Laura (Justice) Rowen and Angie (Chris) Houchin; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceded in death by Father Gary Houchin, grandparents; John and Doris Houchin, Samuel and Ethel Johnson.
Charity work 18 years for Home Depot, with much of it as a manager of MET, where she made many friends throughout the years.
Charity married the love of her life, Chuck, in 1993. During these 33 years of marriage, they raised 3 boys, Bryen, Justin and Jarrod. She was very active in the boys’ lives, attending all activities and being the “football mom” with her best friend Micki. She lived her whole life for her boys. She finally got to experience daughters (in-law) with Francesca and Marissa and promised to be the best possible mother-in-law to them, loving them like her own. Charity’s true love in life was being Oma to her 3 beautiful granddaughters. Braylynn, Silvie and Bailee became her entire world! She enjoyed concerts, fairs, listening to books and vacationing as a family. She loved her family and made all efforts to tell them she loved them, through hugs and Snapchat.
Charity regularly assured her family “Everything’s gonna be alright” so, we must trust and believe that through these hard times, it will be.
Although Charity is gone, she will live actively in our hearts.
