Charlene Marie Wilson
80 beautiful years of age passed away at her daughter Kristine home Saturday, April 26, 2025.
She will be remembered as a angel on earth to many. Her soft spoken, nurturing nature also had a unforeseen witty sense of humor that always surprised the best of us. Charlene was a natural songbird, a master maker with fabrics, an undercover animal lover, and a forever natural brunette. She took pride in being a mother, a grandmother, and having a 57 year marriage. She was once a league bowler, a property management secretary, and the matriarch of the kitchen. She was secretly tougher than any of us knew. Charlene would want to be remembered for her tenacity to push through, and her love for her family.
Charlene is preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Wilson.
Her parents: Shirley and Bud Phillips and Bill Metros.
Her sister Loretta (Bernie) Stolarz.
She is survived by her big brother Jerry Metros. Her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Vicki Wilson.
Her three children: Keith (Lora) Wilson, Tracey Wilson, Kristine (Jeff) Goss.
Charlene leaves behind four very special grandchildren: Tiffany, Jeremy (Bethany), Mya and Isaac Wilson.
Seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Charlene also leaves three lifelong friends: Pudge, Rose and Bev.
At her request she was cremated and will be placed with her husband to be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, Indiana.
Kristine and Jeff will be hosting a celebration of life in her honor at their home Saturday, May 31st, 2025
Family gives a special appreciation, admiration and gratitude to Calumet Hospice for all they do. Especially to JD who took care and showed immense compassion to both Charlene and her husband Bill before they both passed.
May Charlene now have her eternal peace. She was loved and will be missed.
