Charles Gatz Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Gatz, age 85 of Dyer, IN, formerly of Canaryville, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kayle; sister, Barbara (Thomas) Morrison; sister-in-law, Fran Gatz; devoted canine companion, Copper; father-in-law, Dannie Butler; brothers-in-law, Troy (Kim) Butler and Erik (Holly) Photenhauer; sister-in-law, Kelly Butler; former sister-in-law, Kim (Rob) Fishback and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. Gatz and Florence (Chester "Smokey") Jaguszewski; brother, John "Jack" Gatz; mother-in-law, Cheryl (John "Jack") Photenhauer; brother-in-law, Anthony Butler and his beloved dog Harley who passed away six years ago.
Chuck proudly served in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He retired from the Cook County Circuit Court with 30 years of service. Chuck was an avid Cubs fan, a trumpeter for multiple Chicagoland bands, enjoyed golfing and served as a board member of the Knights of Columbus.
A Celebration of Life to honor Chuck will be held privately by the family.
