Charles Lawrence Moore age 92, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Moore) Thompson (Terry) and David Moore (Nancy); grandchildren, Melissa Mack, Justin (Lindsey) Moore, Stephanie Thompson, Sarah (George) Alexandris, Nathan (Amber) Thompson, Matthew Thompson; Great Grandchildren, Ethan Mack, Alaina Miller, Gweneth Mack, Lillie Moore, Jocelyn Mack, Dylan Moore, Ani Mack, Kirk Dapshis, Emma Crowe, Kosta Alexandris, Alice Alexandris and Eliana Thompson; brothers, Kenneth Moore and Edwin Moore.
He is preceded in death by his wife Grace (McCarter) Moore; son, Stephen Moore; Parents, Ray and Lillian Moore; brothers James Moore and Norman Moore and sister Evelyn (Moore) Wilkins.
Charles was born December 21, 1932 in Wood River Illinois to Ray and Lillian Moore. The family later moved to Highland, Indiana. As a young boy he lost sight in his right eye because of an accident. Charles attended and graduated from Griffith High School Where he was an accomplished trumpet player for the high school band. He married Grace (McCarter) Moore in 1951 and in 1958 attended a sign art school in Chicago and apprenticed at Acme signs in Gary later becoming a journeyman Signwriter. He opened his own business Riteway Signs in Highland in the 1960s and was known for his honesty, integrity and professionalism in business. He was respected by his competition for his abilities. In their retirement Charles and Grace traveled the world and lived in several locations across the U.S. before Grace went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 2024.
Charles enjoyed fishing as a hobby and fished lakes from Alaska to Florida. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
For all his accomplishments in life, Charles only wanted to be known as a Christian and was a firm believer in the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation and eternal life in Heaven. His favorite Bible verses were Proverbs 3:5,6.
