Char had many passions in life revolving around, first and foremost, her family, her Catholic faith, cooking, bowling, gardening, and genealogy. Her Romanian and Polish roots ran deep and were reflected in her life. She was always a Harbor Person and loved growing up there and sharing stories of "Da Harbor". The friends she made there she kept throughout her life.

Some of the many highlights in Char's life include her travels throughout the U.S. and Europe. She especially loved the guided tours of Germany and Poland with her son Bob. Char and Ray also traveled to Florida, California, and the Badlands among other locations in the US and were always meeting new friends along the way. Another highlight in her life was the celebration of 60 years of marriage to Ray in 2016. A mass in their honor was held at St. Stanislaus in East Chicago with a reception afterwards. Char and Ray also received a Papal Blessing for this accomplishment.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the American Cancer Society.
